Salty Sands Retreats is located near the beautiful coastal town of Port Neill on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. Tucked amongst the sand dunes and surrounded by nature, it’s a peaceful little escape made for slowing down, switching off and enjoying the coast.
-
It means you can enjoy the magic of camping without giving up the comforts that make a getaway feel special. Salty Sands operates off-grid, using solar power, rainwater and thoughtfully chosen amenities to create a comfortable stay with a lighter footprint.
-
Salty Sands is completely off-grid. Solar and battery-powered lighting and refrigerator is provided, however there is no mains electricity available for charging phones and other devices. We recommend arriving with your devices charged and bringing a portable power bank if needed.
-
Yes! You’ll have your own private ensuite facilities, including a hot rainwater shower and eco-friendly composting toilet. We provide everything you need to use the facilities comfortably during your stay.
-
No. Your stay is set up ready for you to arrive and relax, with beautiful linen, a hotel-quality mattress and towels provided.
-
Absolutely. In fact, you don’t really need to be a “camper” at all. The tent is already set up and styled for your arrival, with a proper bed, linen, bathroom facilities and all the little touches that make it feel like a retreat rather than traditional camping.
-
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing, suitable footwear, your food and drinks, a charged phone/power bank and anything else you’d normally bring for a coastal getaway. Don't forget a warm layer for evenings—even in the warmer months.
-
Being immersed in nature means the weather is part of the Salty Sands experience. Our glamping setup is designed for outdoor conditions, but we always recommend checking the forecast before your stay and packing accordingly. In severe or unsafe weather conditions, we’ll contact you if your booking may be affected.
-
Fire pit use is dependent on current weather conditions, fire restrictions and South Australian fire danger season requirements. Guest safety and protection of the surrounding environment will always comes first.
-
Salty Sands is designed as an intimate glamping escape and is perfect for couples or those looking for a peaceful solo getaway.
-
We recommend at least two nights. One night simply isn't enough once you've settled in! A longer stay gives you time to slow down, explore Port Neill and the surrounding Eyre Peninsula, and actually enjoy doing very little.
-
Think beautiful beaches, coastal walks, swimming, fishing, photography, exploring the Eyre Peninsula or simply staying put with a wine and watching the sun go down. We also provide local recommendations to help you make the most of your stay.
